San Clemente

I haven't written in a long while...oops! Kinda like my journal, I forget sometimes! But I have a good excuse...I went on vacation with my family!! It was spectacular! We stayed in a beach house with all of my dad's side of the family, well most of them (only 4 of the 10 couldn't make it). It was such a great week: I got to spend lots of time with my family, but especially my grandmother. She taught me a lot about cooking and I really enjoyed spending time with her. The cousins were fun, and sooooo old!! It's so weird that everyone is growing up and getting taller! The little cousins were obsessed with the pool, and that's an understatement! If we weren't at the beach, they were in the pool. I think they only came out to eat and sleep! They screamed like crazy at all the fun games they were playing and how the older boys and uncles were throwing them across the pool. So maybe it was a good thing for them to stay outside, for all of our sanity! They were so excited about all the tricks they could do and how fast they could go down the slide, it was so great! So all in all, vaca was AMAZING! Now onto how my training is going. Well, I have trained every day for my half marathon! It scares the heck out of me. But I know I can do it! I'm getting better and stronger, so I'm hoping it pays off! My new kicks are freaking awesome too! They have definitely played a HUGE role in how well I am doing and I LOVE them! Definitely recommend them to anyone who needs new shoes. The electric blue color is way fun too and they are super comfortable while being supportive, which is what I need! They are much brighter in person than in this picture, but it still shows how somewhat how bright they are! Well, life is good in the hood, and I've got to get my booty to the gym! Hopefully it's smooth sailing cause I'm on my way to a HALF MARATHON!!!

SPARK

SPARK. Well, this place is amazing! It is a little club type restaurant that serves gourmet food at an affordable price. These fries were rosemary herb fries, and holy cow. Woah. SOOO yummy! And I'm a fry lover. I would know. Trust me. They are worth the calories! And, let's not forget the AMAZING drinks to the left of my fries! The far left one is a Mango Mojito, and the drink to the right is called Ox Blood. Don't you fret! They are ALL non-alcoholic drinks and they taste so dang good! We definitely got some great ideas for the mocktail we will be throwing for my friend Adrienne's 21st birthday! Mocktails are quite popular in little P-town as most students/people don't drink. I'm pretty excited to throw it, we'll see how it goes! It'll be my first mocktail...hopefully I'll figure out how to concoct the drinks to make them yummy! All-in-all the drinks and food were great! Check it out, you won't be sorry!

Color Me Mine, PPC, and NO Sleep Make For A Great Time!

Oh boy, let's just talk about the GREAT 3 days I've just had! Saturday, I went to Color Me Mine with a bunch of great friends. SUCH a fun place to catch up and/or meditate! Holy cow I love this place....and another great part of going is you can make custom plates, cups, piggy banks, or whatever for your home! So cute for gifts or just for fun! I definitely suggest this for a great time or to just get in-touch with your creative side!!!
Now Sunday roles around...let's just say NO sleep was to be found! My roomie Lyndsee (commonly called by me as "Syndsee") and I were on one and I was trying to prepare my Sunday School lesson. Our bedrooms share a wall, and after chatting it up ALL NIGHT LONG, we decided to send morse code messages through the wall with scratches and taps...it was GREAT. Needless to say, I got 4 hours of sleep. While teaching Sunday School, I was experiencing an allergic reaction to gluten...yes. I know. You're sorry I can't eat wheat. Me too. I was sweating and sick....this mixed with a lack of sleep...whew, I needed a break. Sunday School went great, but I definitely left early and hurried home. Don't worry, I slept for 5 hours!! Oh my goodness it felt so good! It was exactly what I needed! But more great things were to come in the next 24 hours! A lovely Monday it has been with a great run to start my day! Now, I'm no runner...YET. But just you wait and see! I am starting to train for a half marathon. My dad is a marathon runner and I REALLY want to run one with him one day. I know it would make him proud and he would LOVE it! I will definitely keep you updated on these runs I have...too short of a distance to brag about now, but hey I'm still PROUD of myself! Best shape of my life.... HERE I COME!!! Can't wait!
Now here comes the exciting part of my day...PIZZA. Now I know, I have Celiac Disease, so HOW do I eat pizza? Well thank you Utah!! There are two GREAT places I've tried that have gluten free pizza in Provo. Malawi's is one amazing place, they have gluten free BBQ sauce which I love! But, Pizza Pie Cafe (PPC), might have outdone Malawi's this time. Malawi's is great, because each meal bought, the store donates 1 meal to Malawi, Africa. The pizza is made in a brick oven and is so yummy! It is like $10 ish, so a little pricey, but definitely worth it. They also have pasta and salad. But, PPC...wow. They did great today! Gluten free pizza and dessert pizza! It is about $7 and all you can eat! Their pizza was SO good. My goodness, I ate WAYYY too much. Good thing I ran today right?! A little counter-active but hey...once in awhile it's okay! Bob Harper says so! And talk about CRAZY! I ran into dear family friends that I haven't seen in a LONG TIME, the Anderson's, just as they were walking out and I in! I haven't seen them in forever and timing couldn't have been more perfect! Such a blessing to run into them and see them again, I just LOVE them! So all-in-all, such a fabulous weekend and a great start to the week! Love my friends I get to spend my time with up here! Such a wonderful life!

Life According to Me

As I begin my life in the blogging world, I wonder what it will be like. I am excited for this new part of my life, to journal online and let you all know how I feel about life as it happens around me...and to me. Sometimes I think I'm hilarious, if you don't...well, you're probably not funny either. I hope to gain a better understanding of the world around me through sharing it with you, and can't wait to start letting you live my life with me, because hey, the more the merrier. Blogging world...here I come!
